Alien Doom 2.0
AliensDoom 2.0
This program is Freeware!
DO NOT MODIFY AND REDISTRIBUTE
Instructions:
Unzip the aliens20.zip file with the -d option, or else the installation
will NOT work. Do this on your doom directory. A directory called
"...../doom/aliendm" should be created with a bunch of files inside
that directory, and a few IMPORTANT files right inside your DOOM directory.
Read the file "aliens20.txt", and follow the instructions. When you are done,
type "aliensdm" to play the game. Nothing is done permanently
to your DOOM.WAD or DOOM.EXE if you follow these directions properly.
Make sure you have 4 megs of Hard Drive space free AFTER unzipping the
zip into your doom directory. This is because DMADDS creates a file
that replaces ALL the graphics.
Enjoy!

Due to the fact that we are releasing this as freeware, the only thing we
can ask for payment is to tell us if you liked it. If you liked a particular
part of the patch (or didn't like it, or would like to criticize it) please
send mail to that specific author. If you liked the entire thing just e-mail
Marc Gordon or Dan Goldwasser, and we'll forward the lavishing of praise on
to all the other team members.
Thanks to Bernd Kreimeier all the sprites will be in a pwad! IMHO this is
a much prefered method to having upwards of 500 separate .gif files floating
around in your Doom directory. If you disagree, feel free to write batch
files to modify the IWAD... keep in mind, though, that the graphics pwad
will be in the range of 2 megs... make sure you have room!
THE STORY SO FAR:
12 YEARS AFTER THE LV-426 INCIDENT
Weyland-Yutani Bio-Weapons Research Labs on Dulceron, a planet
in the 5th quadrant of the Mutari System (only 25 light years from earth)
have discovered another source for the aliens which destoryed the colony on
LV-426. Contact was lost with the Labs days after their transmission.
You, a Colonial Marine, have been sent in with your troops to find, and
destroy the aliens.
Upon your arrival, you find that the labs have been all but destroyed.
Bodies lie everywhere, and before you know it, you and your team are attacked.
Not by aliens, but by Weyland-Yutani employees in power loaders who do not
want you to destroy their research. After you deal with the few that you
encounter, most of your squad is suddenly killed in an alien attack. As you
run down the corridor, you can hear their screams fading into the distance.
After trying to avoid aliens, facehuggers, disgruntled employees, and evil
marines, you run into the ducts, to formulate your plan.
Now, it is just you. And you have to get out and blow the place....
